About the College
Rama Devi Bajla Mahila College, situated in the prime location of Deoghar is a Constituent Unit of Sido Kanhu Murmu University, Dumka. It was established in the year 1962 on 17th July by the prestigious Bajla family. This college advocates for women's empowerment, self-reliance and recognition. It began with seven students but now the strength of the students has risen to thousand times. The college runs two years Intermediate Course and Four-Year Undergraduate programme for the faculty of Arts, Science and Commerce. The syllabus for all the streams is designed within the purview of NEP 2020.
This college spreads across 2.59 acres with lushed green campus. It has proper accommodation for female students who come from tribal background in the form of welfare hostel. The classrooms are equipped with smart boards to provide blended learning to the students.
The teachers are well-educated and experienced in their respective discipline. Along with the study, there is provision for extra-curricular activities simultaneously in the form of NSS and NCC. The college organizes co-curricular activities related to departmental seminars, quizzes, debate, yoga and other awareness programmes. It is dedicated towards the overall development of the girls studying here. There are various cells like Grievance Redressal cell, Women Cell IQAC cell, ST/SC Cell, Alumni cell, Anti-Ragging cell and several others. Many committees have been developed to tackle the problems faced by the students and teachers. It provides remedial courses for the academically weak students. It exercises Zero Tolerance Policy towards caste and religious discrimination. It encourages unity, equality, fraternity and justifiable action among the students.
